The Buffalo Wild Wings will be located on a block that already has the Chili's restaurant and Bravo Cucino Italiana, 1701 Maple Ave. (Crain's) — A local restaurateur has agreed to open a Buffalo Wild Wings in a downtown Evanston shopping center that already features a Chili's and an Italian eatery that last year replaced the Wolfgang Puck Café.
Get excited, fans of fast-casual dining: National chain Buffalo Wild Wings has announced that they'll be opening their first whoops, eighth Chicago-area location, in Evanston's Church Street Plaza in the old Maple Gallery space. He says that restaurant has been the top-selling location for the last three years for the Minneapolis-based chain, which has nearly 600 locations nationwide. Bravo Cucino has done well in the 8,500-square-foot location, says Ronald Dee, senior-vice president of Columbus-based Bravo Brio Restaurant Group, which operates the chain. He says the new restaurant will be a "perfect complement" to the existing tenants in the center, which is anchored by an 18-screen Century Theatres movie theater.
Its location beside Filene's Basement and and adjacent to the Pinnacle building should provide ample lunchtime traffic, whether consumer will make the drive back to a parking deck in the heart of Buckhead is another story. Weiler operates the Buffalo Wild Wings in the Village Crossing shopping center in Skokie. The restaurant, known for its chicken wings bathed in 14 different sauces, could open around November and will replace Maple Avenue Gallery, which sells works from contemporary artists such as abstract painter Pietro Adamo and metal wall sculptor Derek Youngquist. Already plays host to a Chili's — which we've always considered to be to burgers and tex-mex what Buffalo Wild Wings is to fried pieces of chicken — and an outpost of Italian chain Bravo Cucino, which we're assured is the Italian equivalent.
